Falls Mills Christian Church is an un-denominational church which is a part of a group of churches known as the “Restoration Movement.” One of our goals as a church is to restore the church as a whole to the pattern we see in the New Testament while leaving man-made doctrines and traditions and denominational names behind. We also seek to bring about a unity among God’s people founded in the truth of God’s Word. As a result it is our desire to see denominational barriers broken down and God’s people to be known simply as “Christians” and Christians only.
We believe the church exists today to reach people outside of Christ, to bring saved people into maturity in Christ and to worship God with our lives.
In all that we do we seek to teach the truth and do so in love. We make it our goal to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. Therefore, we have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and no law but love. It is our utmost aim to bring glory to God through all that we say and do as the church and as individuals.
What We Believe About the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our only rule of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16). We believe it is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our faith (Pslam 119:105). It is through hearing His Word that our faith increases (Romans 10:17).
What We Believe About Salvation:
We believe that the Bible teaches that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Our best attempts to reach God fall short. We may strive to be good people and do good deeds, but those things can never earn our salvation. Salvation is a gift that comes from God and is by His grace, we certainly are no deserving. We also believe that salvation is only found in Jesus Christ (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). We believe the Bible clearly lays out the pattern by which a person is saved. A person desiring to come to Him must first believe (John 3:16, Hebrews 11:6). However, a mere belief that God exists does not make one saved; even the demons have a belief in the existence of God (James 2:17-19). Believers must also confess Jesus Christ as the Lord of their lives (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9), they also must repent of their sins (Luke 13:3). Also, anyone desiring to become a Christian must be immersed into water for the forgiveness of their sins and for the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, I Peter 3:21). Following our conversion a Christian must remain faithful until death (James 1:12).
